My Coaching Style

COACHING PHILOSOPHY

My coaching philosophy is centered on long-term athlete development. I believe athletes improve most when fundamentals are taught correctly and practiced with intention. Learning through challenge is part of the process, and mistakes are treated as opportunities to improve.

PRACTICE PLANS

I like to start from the basics and progressively build toward game-like situations, but that depends on the program.

Warmup -> 2-4 Drill (depending on length of the session) -> Modified game -> cool-down

Teaching Approach

I teach skills through clear demonstration, guided repetition, and immediate feedback. Drills progress from controlled practice to game-like situations so athletes understand not only how to perform a skill, but when and why to use it.

Approach to Mistakes & Confidence

Mistakes are treated as part of the learning process rather than something to fear. Athletes are encouraged to take risks, try new skills, and recover quickly after errors. Feedback focuses on solutions and progress rather than blame.

MY EXPECTATIONS

Athletes are expected to:

-Show respect for teammates, coaches, opponents, and officials

-Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to work

-Give consistent effort in every practice and competition

-Maintain focus and minimize distractions during training

-Support teammates, especially during difficult moments

-Communicate clearly, respectfully, and positively

-Be coachable and apply feedback immediately

-Take responsibility for mistakes and learn from them

-Demonstrate sportsmanship in both winning and losing

-Contribute to a positive team culture on and off the court

Effort, attitude, accountability, and teamwork are valued as highly as technical skill.

TEAM ENVIRONMENT

I aim to create a supportive and approachable environment where athletes feel comfortable learning and competing. Standards around effort, focus, and respect are consistent in every session.
